This one, he expects, was going to be no different to that last one. Or the one before that. Every new guardian came with old behaviors. Indifferent at best, negligent at worst, but that doesn’t matter much to Pony, anyway. He’s fourteen now, has been for a month, so he doesn’t need coddling. He can handle just fine on his own, that was for sure. And he surely doesn’t need some social worker sticking their nose in his business whenever he gets roughed up a little.
