I started this fic before Shiro's sexuality was addressed; when asked, it was left open to interpretation for inclusion/rep purposes. Instead of scrapping months of work, I chose to put some positive bi-guy rep into the world by writing Shiro as bisexual. Bi guys get erased or shamed constantly, and I can't stand it. My Shiro is the strong, sexy, responsible leader we all love, who happens to be into more than one gender. After seeing the last two seasons of VLD, I'm more committed than ever to give his relationships (I LOVE ADASHI) the respect they didn't get from the show.

The parchment is expensive. Tav runs her fingertips over the wax seal and hesitates; she knows what this is. She is not surprised that it is happening, she is, however, surprised at being included in some way. Perhaps, she allows herself, she had hoped it wouldn't be so soon. (She has already put to bed the part of herself that had hoped it would not happen at all.) Gale had, after all, been very clear - and devastatingly gentle - in his explanation.
