“You can’t fight like this, kid.”
“I can!” But he slumped over on the ground as his stomach clenched once again, and he braced himself for the next wave. It came up violently.
“You can’t even transform.”
Adrien wanted to argue, but it was difficult to do through the wretching into the porcelain bowl.
“Give me the ring. I’ll take it to Marinette.”
“No! Not Marinette!”
Marinette was most definitely one thousand percent capable of wielding destruction.
But she didn’t want to be a hero. And Adrien couldn’t be the one to push past that boundary.
“Kid, you know she’s the best choice.”
Adrien gagged and choked back the next wave.
“Nino! G-go to Nino.”
Nino at least enjoyed being a hero, and sure, he already had Wayzz, but the black cat’s presence was more vital in any one particular battle. Ladybug had to summon eight others when he had failed to show in the past.
He promised he would never leave her again.
He couldn’t leave her without support.
“Nino,” he said again.
