“He’s basically off-book on our scenes, and honestly he had them memorized even before I did, and—” Finally recovering from his shock, He Xuan snarls and rushes to shut their mouth, but Shi Qingxuan pushes him back with surprising strength, holding him at arm’s length. “—And! And, and he’s actually a really good actor! Like, at the very least on par with me, and you know I wouldn’t concede that easily.”
Shi Qingxuan finishes with a beaming smile, and He Xuan deflates. They say something else, but all He Xuan can hear is the tolling of his death bell.
So, He Xuan becomes the Romeo to Shi Qingxuan's Juliet.
