Mona rocks back on her shins, tosses her hair over her shoulder and, like it’s nothing, proclaims “Looks like we’re gonna have to switch spots then, aren’t we Ruben?” His heart thuds so loud he’s certain they can hear it. They exchange a look, the bewildered expression on Ruben’s face slowly pulling into a lascivious grin before they both turn to him.
“I- uh, what?” He’s looking back and forth between their faces, waiting for the punchline.
Mona leans over him, reaching out to stroke his arm right beneath the sleeve, talking low like she’s soothing a stray dog.
“Well I just don’t have the right equipment to pop your cherry wee Niall, gonna have to leave it up to Rube.” Her grin is big, encouraging, so contagious that it makes his own lips twitch. “Don worry, I’ll make sure he behaves.”

The arm around Niall’s chest tightens, and the one slipped into the gap between Niall’s neck and the pillow rises, an impossibly large seeming hand cupping over Niall’s mouth.

He yearned for Aemond to push him away, spit at him, draw a dagger from beneath the pillow he had been sprawled against like an oil painting’s subject just moments before. He yearned for his rejection Just to rid him of the strangle-hold of desire that was taking over him, misting his judgement, and leaving everything foggy and indiscernible.
No violence followed, Aemond simply blinked, curling eyelashes capturing the orange glow of the candles so that they glimmered like spun sugar.
Delicious.

It is a very Saxon question, one that makes Sihtric grin lopsided. “My father killed my mother, Ragnar my father, and Thyra my half-brother. The only thing left for me there are ghosts.”After Uhtred’s banishment from Wessex and his escape up North, Sihtric is forced to return to Dunholm, now in Ragnar’s hands, where ghosts lurk at every corner and his mother’s memory and Kjartan’s shadow feel larger than ever before. While uncertainty grows and whispers of war begin to spread, his friends from the present, and allies from the past, will become the best weapon he has to battle the darkness of a place that threatens to devour him whole.

Pat Riley enjoys frequenting the leather club near his flat. Jim Almonds runs a bakery nearby. In the wee hours of the morning when Pat is walking home and Jim is opening the bakery, he and Jim cross paths.

"What is it?" Jim says. "Flour on my face?"
"No— well, yeah." Pat notices quickly that Jim does have flour on his face, a dusting across his nose, a smear just under one of his eyes, now that he gets a closer look. As he lets his eyes linger, Pat makes note of two moles on Jim's left cheekbone, a couple centimeters apart, another just to the right of his nose. Pat swallows, dryly.
"That wasn't… why I looked," Pat says, feeling suddenly very self conscious about what he's wearing and if he has any come drying in his hair or if he looks like he just got his face fucked kneeling on the floor of a sex club's bathroom or anything else that is equally improbable. He looks at Jim, really looks at him — putting his cigarette out on the brick wall at their backs — and opens his mouth to say something more when a timer dings from inside the bakery.
