It’s the end of their first term as second years, and class 2-C is throwing a party.
Hitoshi doesn’t want to go- he’s not a party guy, and he much prefers sitting quietly in his room with a small group of friends- but Midoriya insists and Hitoshi’s not strong enough to resist him or any of his other friends.
He agrees to stay for at least an hour, fully planning on leaving the moment eight PM rolls around, until an old acquaintance from the general studies track one year above them- Mizuno Nao- shows up to chat with him. The company is nice in the loud, suffocating room, and Hitoshi has a good time talking with him on the outskirts of the crowd.
It takes him too long to realize that Mizuno’s intention was never just to talk.

And Shouta is still so busy biting back all those words he really wants to say, is so busy trying to not let Hizashi know, is busy fighting all those feelings inside of himself that he does the single most stupid thing he can think of.

Only for a moment, just a spare thought, floating through his brain for no longer than a second, but it's there and his mouth works all on its own.
"Can you fucking stop?" he roughly says and Hizashi freezes where he stands.
