The first time Shauna thought about it, she was watching the snowy outdoors through the smudged attic window. White swallowed everything beyond the pane, but the filth on the glass turned it murky and wrong, like looking at something dead beneath cloudy water, something sickly with rot.
Her attention wasn’t on the ground, though. It drifted, slowly and inevitably, to Lottie.
or, Shauna is pregnant, exhausted and furious. She finds a different way to let it all out, one that doesn't involve beating Lottie to death.

“I don’t know. It’s like, I just need…” Buffy really doesn’t want to admit what she needs. Not here, not to Faith. “…something.”
“Something,” Faith repeats.
“I guess you’d call it a little uh,” Buffy says, cringing at the sound of her own grunt.
Faith laughs. It feels like she’s laughing at Buffy. “Now you’re speaking my language, B. You’re horny.”
“Yeah,” Buffy murmurs. She really shouldn’t be. That’s not who she is. Faith is the loud, horny Slayer and Buffy is the good Slayer who occasionally gets herself off under the covers, in the dark, all guilty-like.
“I can help,” Faith says casually. Buffy’s taken aback, because what? They just established neither of them are gay and now Faith’s offer to, what, get Buffy off?
“Huh?”
“I scratch your itch, you scratch mine,” Faith says, like it’s no big deal.

Summary
