Growing up, Hikari thought she knew exactly who Takeru was: radiant and charismatic, vain and arrogant at times, but above all else, happy. Always happy, rarely without his trademark smile. But part of growing up is understanding that people are never as they seemed, and part of being a grown up is deciding what to do with these unedited versions of the people we love and care about, even if it's not what we thought it would be.
Because in reality, it's never what we think it would be.
