Gordon’s eyes were wide and bright and full of life and concern and curiosity, just like they had been forty four years ago. He’s here, Warren thought to himself, he’s here and awake and alive and right in front of you, he’s not going to be taken away from you. He’s here, he’s here, he’s here. Warren didn’t notice his knuckles turn white as he clutched the sheets tighter in his hands.
“Fine, fine ok.” He relented, and let out a big sigh, “It’s just…it’s hard to believe you’re actually here. I keep expecting to blink and have you disappear because I was just hallucinating to make myself feel better or something. I spent all this time waiting for you to wake up, but now that you’re actually awake I have no idea what to do or what to say. I feel like an idiot.” He admitted, feeling a little breathless. For some reason, Gordon just smiled.
“I know a bit about what that’s like.”
