  1. Summary

A series of disconnected drabbles that play with the (sometimes but not always one-sided) Stommy relationship. Basically where I take Steve Harrington, Tommy Hagan, and sometimes Dustin Henderson and rattle them around a bunch in my mind.

  3. Summary

Steve sighs before continuing: “It can’t happen in Hawkins, Dustin, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen. You’re going to get out. You’re going to go to college because you are super smart and– and you’re going to find a guy who’s perfect for you.” Steve watches his own face in the mirror say these words, tracing the lines under his eyes, the bruise on his jaw, the cut on his temple. He imagines the man who will someday love Dustin and feels a sudden, intense jealousy. “You are going to find a guy who is smart, and understands you, and is brave for you. You are going to find someone who loves you. You are going to get your happy ending.” It sounds like a prayer or incantation. Dustin will be happy someday. He must.

    ---

Love looks a certain way in Hawkins. It doesn't look like Dustin Henderson and Steve Harrington going steady, that's for sure.

    Summary

Robin Buckley refuses to accept that the universe handed her front-row seats to the slow-burn, emotionally devastating phenomenon that is Steve Harrington and Dustin Henderson—and did not expect her to document it.

This is the annotated record of two survivors and their favorite band, assembled and weaponized by the only person in Hawkins with the musical literacy, emotional range, and sheer stubbornness to do it properly.

She’s unstoppable, she has Freddie Mercury on her side.

(Take that, Nancy Wheeler, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, terrifyingly competent shot, and woman who still corrects Robin's comma usage in Christmas cards.)

    Summary

Dustin sleeps, his sweet lips parted. His curls are on the pillow. Steve knows exactly how tangled but soft they are, and how nice it would be to run his hand through them. He exhales hoarsely and his hand finds itself on his dick. Steve allows himself to stroke himself once, slowly moving his palm from the base to the tip. He won't jerk off to Dustin while he is asleep, but fuck -

    Summary

Steve leans over her, looking pale and freaked out. Her pulse and breathing are going apeshit and she’s pretty much as close to a panic attack as she’s been in months. She pictures him dead. Herself dead, too. Sometimes, in the darkness, it’s all she ever sees... “Robin?” He waves his hand in front of her nose, ripping her back to the present.

“I… uh, I’m fine.” Just reliving what happens in glorious technicolour most nights when I close my eyes. “Your lip… It’s bleeding.”

When Steve is hurt in a robbery at Family Video, Robin experiences horrible flashbacks to THAT night at Starcourt. It looks like her insomnia is back for good… until Steve comes up with a plan. Inspired by whumptober day 12 prompts “I haven’t slept in days, but who’s counting?”; insomnia; and “I’m up, I’m up.”

    Summary

“Yeah,” Steve sighs. “I’m gonna miss you, too, Dustin. Hey, promise you won’t forget about good old Steve Harrington when you make a bunch of new, smart friends?”

Steve brings his hand to grip the base of Dustin’s neck. He knows he sounds pathetic, but it covers what he really wants to say, which is “don’t leave me behind.”

Dustin catches Steve’s gaze and holds it. “You’re my best friend. You know that nothing could ever change that.”

Steve can’t seem to tear his eyes away from Dustin’s. The weight of everything they went through in the last five years hangs in the air. There’s too much to say and nothing to say that they don’t already know.

    --

Set in the year after Dustin graduates high school and heads to college, Steve and Dustin struggle to navigate their relationship as it changes in ways that neither of them anticipated, especially now that the threat of the Upside Down is no longer an excuse to keep them together.

It’s a story told through phone calls, postcards, holidays at home, road trips, and Lord of the Rings references. It’s a story of learning what to let go of, what to hold onto and how to find a path forward. Mostly, it’s a story about love.
