Summary
Rumi has been standing in front of the wooden gate for approximately ten minutes now, listening to Mira and Zoey bicker inside her house. This is so stupid. She could just take the leaves from the oregano plant from within her reach. It's right there.
But Mira insisted that they had oregano inside and told Rumi to wait here. So she waits.
"Zoey, how did you rearrange the spice cabinet?!"
"By vibes!"
"What does that even mean?!"
Rumi hid her cough with her fist. She just needed one oregano leaf, not whatever these idiots were trying to give her.

In which Rumi doesn't know why her mothers keep asking her to ask for leaves from the new neighbors, but she does so anyway because she's a good daughter. Zoey and Mira fumble their chance with Rumi (or do they?) because they don't know their plants.or in which the author really projects their culture on Rumi and Celine.

Summary
16 year old Rumi screamed at her mother's grave, questioning if life was even worth it, the future looked impossible now. The patterns burned all over her body, angry and glowing, the image of Celine's disgust playing like a broken record. How could the two other parts of her soul, the other hunters that she didn't even know yet, accept her? How could she seal the Honmoon looking like a monster?
Before Rumi could do something drastic, the Honmoon helps her teleport all the way to Burbank California. Right to a certain bubbly girl named Zoey.

Rumi has to survive the United States with the help of Zoey, while trying to be a Demon Hunter. Navigating Public School as a sheltered Home School kid, trying to act normal as her demon traits pop up at the sniff of heightened emotions, and worse of all the growing feels she has for Zoey and the Foreign Exchange student Mira. Oh well worse might be the demons that still want to eat everyone but Rumi can kill them at least.

Summary
“What happened to you?” Celine asked, her voice still cold, but genuinely worried.
As the hazel-brown eyes rushed across the demoness’s face, she could notice more and more of Mi-Yeong’s features. Yet, she did not let the hurt woman into her home.
A demon’s a demon.
“Th-they tried to force me–” Rumi paused, shaking her head to rid herself of the sudden dizziness, “My mother–” She paused, “SHE tried to force me to destroy the Honmoon,” She added, hoping she was not slurring too much. “I-I couldn’t–” She mumbled, losing strength and sliding down the doorframe.
OR
Mi-Yeong ran with her daughter when Rumi was just a child, leaving Rumi to grow up in the Underworld.
The longer they stayed there, the more evil and corrupted Mi-Yeong became, finally agreeing to Gwi-Ma's idea to take down the Honmoon.
All they needed was Rumi.
But the half-demoness ran, knowing that the Honmoon should not be removed.
Now, Rumi is stuck in our world. She asked Celine for help, and while she hides what she is, she befriends the young hunters.

Summary
The Honmoon was sealed. That was still a hard thing to believe. It had been so long, so many generations of hunters had tried, and they were able to actually do it. They wrapped the tour, wrapped the interviews and fan-signings and meet ups, and officially started on a long-awaited hiatus.

Everything ended as quickly as it started. With Zoey jumping out of the couch before saying "Well, who's hungry? Mira's making ramen" and stretching her back, flexing her muscles as she walked towards the kitchen. Unfazed, as if nothing had ever happened. As if her tongue wasn't down Rumi's throat just a second ago, making her squirm."

Summary
After everything, the girls talk. It's messy (there's crying and anger and fear and love), and it ends with a promise: No more lies. It's only afterwards that Rumi thinks of her visit to Celine, and she very promptly decides NOT to share that particular experience with Mira and Zoey, content to let that little snippet of time die quietly in her memories alone (and really, what harm can one more lie be?). But, as Rumi has found out recently, her secrets have a way of coming to light, whether she wants them to or not.

They look at her with disgust and shock at finding out she was part demon, raising their weapons. This sends Rumi into a suicidal spiral, with her begging them both (instead of Celine) to kill her.

Summary
As Zoey watched Rumi’s retreating form and heard the quiet thunk of her door shutting in the distance, she lasted a few minutes helping Mira pick up before something in the air changed. It was like heavy clouds descending after a bright, sunny day, and the maknae suddenly found herself tearing up as the emotions of the morning and the past few days truly caught up to her.
Mira, of course, noticed immediately. She set down the cups she was holding and paced forward to touch Zoey’s arm, brows knitted in worry. “Whoa, are you okay, Zo?”
It hit like a flood then, a dam breaking after too long holding back pressure. Zoey stumbled forward and collapsed into Mira’s arms with a hiccupping sob, hot tears streaming down her cheeks. “…We almost lost her,” she whispered, her voice cracking with horror and heartbreak. “Oh God, we almost lost our Rumi.”
