The thing is, Foggy’s only human. He knows how to throw a decent punch, kick a man in the balls and run away, like any other self respecting resident of Hell’s Kitchen. He can’t wield a gun or flip off a rooftop. He leaves that to the concerning amount of vigilantes he knows, and Karen.
But alone and vulnerable, he’s only human. He’s scared of pain, and terrified of death.

Summary
Alex knows Elliot's death was a blow to L-Unit. He sees it in their careful handling of faded picture frames, and in his empty room. In Bear's shaky smile in the morning after a nightmare, and Lion's paranoid protectiveness. In Tiger's choppy anger and in the grief layered in his stories.
He knew that there were unhealed wounds among them when he walked into the Sergeant's office, but it wasn't supposed to be his business. He wasn't trying to replace someone irreplaceable (and he didn't); he wasn't even trying to help them.
He wasn't meant to get attached. Guess he massively botched that one up.
