Adam, attablé devant son thé, leva la tête vers son frère cadet qui venait d’émerger et le rejoignait dans la cuisine. Il leva les yeux au ciel.
Déjà, il ne faisait pas de « tête ». Et il ne faisait pas de rêves érotiques. Encore moins avec Morgane. En tout cas, il n’en avait pas fait depuis le rêve légèrement suggestif de la dernière fois, et cela lui convenait très bien comme ça, merci.Où Adam et Morgane cèdent d'abord à leur attraction physique.

La première fois qu’il ramena son fils chez lui, Adam ne s’imaginait pas ramener avec lui toute la tribu Alvaro par la même occasion. Morgane éluda un bon moment la question brûlante : qu’est-ce qui s’était passé exactement avec sa maison ? Adam ne s’agaça presque pas lorsqu’elle finit par lui répondre.

Ilya Rozanov has been drafted by Boston, the number one pick overall, but his father doesn't want him moving to America and so takes steps to block his visa. He's going to have to go back to Russia and stay there forever and that, thinks Shane Hollander, is wrong.
It's so wrong that Shane can't stop himself from doing something about it. Even though that something is the most reckless, the only reckless thing he's ever done in his life. He marries Rozanov in secret, to keep him out of Russia and put him on a path to Canadian citizenship.
Shane's got a five-year plan to get him there and when you have a plan nothing can go wrong. Right? Right. When you have a solid plan and a marriage that's on paper only there's no risk of feelings getting involved. Not on Rozanov's part and certainly not on Shane's.
Right???

“Y-Yeah, totally,” Shane replied. “D-Do you uh– do you know who that kid with Rozanov is?”
Scott laughed a little, tilting his head in confusion.
“Probably Rozanov’s kid,” he informed Shane, causing his brain to stall completely.
“You didn’t hear?” Scott asked, and Shane blinked, trying to reboot his mind from the crash that Scott had just caused. “It’s why he took time off,” Hunter informed him. “Found out he had a kid, I guess. Or something like that, I didn’t really get the details.”
Of all the reasons he’d thought of for Ilya disappearing for the past month, this had never crossed his mind. A million different thoughts raced through Shane’s mind. How the hell was Ilya a dad, and why hadn’t he told Shane and how the fuck did Scott Hunter of all people find out before him and—
And what the fuck was Shane supposed to do now?

After the tuna melt situation, Ilya suddenly disappears from hockey for six weeks, claiming some sort of family emergency. Shane showed up to the All-Star game ready to try and fix things, only to be shocked to find a little girl at Ilya's side with remarkably familiar blue eyes.

Ilya had told Shane to leave because they needed space - they needed some room to catch their breath so they could talk about things properly. So they could say sorry and fix the mess they had made. But one day apart stretched into two, into three, into a week, and suddenly Shane was on the other end of the phone, saying, ”Maybe this isn’t going to work, Ilya.”
At least Ilya is good at that part; he’s an expert in being left behind.
(Or, Ilya and Shane breakup. Then the Centaurs’ plane almost crashes.)
