Ladybug is forced out of his much-needed sabbatical leave for a supposedly quick & easy mission – the retrieval of an antique watch collection, presently in the possession of a notorious thief. He had taken the job at Maria’s insistence, vowing it will be the last one as he packed his suitcase. On paper, the all-inclusive stay at a lush five-star hotel amidst the picturesque landscapes of rural England had sounded like an utter dream. On paper.
He finds himself regretting ever having agreed to it less than ten minutes after checking in, when he runs into the Twins – Lemon and Tangerine – whom he had figured (had hoped, really) he would never have to encounter ever again following the fiasco in Japan, around a year back. They are on a job, too – their target? The stepdaughter of a high-profile socialite.
At least – Ladybug considered with a pitiful frown, fumbling with his key-card, the faintest flicker of optimism he could muster up at this very moment fuelling his trek towards room one-oh-one – it could not possibly get worse from here.

“So why won’t you just talk to me about it?”
He grabbed one of the dry towels off the rack. His voice was muffled as he harshly rubbed it over his face. “It’s not that simple, mate.”
Or: Steven isn't adjusting well after Cairo, Marc just wants to help, and there's something else lurking in the shadows, waiting to take shotgun.
