Hob seemed to be the only one to notice him, the older looking man drifting in and out of the funeral, disappearing in between moments, never in the same space as one of The Endless.
One chance meeting later, Hob petitions Time to send him back to try and change Dream’s fate. Betting on the immortal’s inevitable failure and being an absolute arse of a cosmic being, Time does send him back. A few thousand years too early.
Or—
Sometimes altering the past makes everything worse before it gets better.
Alternatively titled: Hob’s semi-accidental sexcapades through time while desperately attempting to change history so Morpheus doesn’t die.

Dean and Cas are investigating a weird case at a Renaissance Faire when everything goes sideways. One minute they are blending in, participating in a chant with the other fairgoers around some monolithic rock formation and the next they are falling through a portal to another universe.
Disoriented and dumped into a dark forest, Dean was startled by a yellow-eyed man carrying two huge swords on his back. Geralt barely had a chance to call out a warning before the pack of werewolves he was hunting set upon them.
Perhaps this realm wasn’t so different after all? Though, Dean wishes the mouthy bard would stop openly flirting with his angel.

Summary
When Castiel sacrificed himself to the empty, he didn’t do it expecting to be rescued.
He didn’t expect to wake up six months later in Heaven, looking up at Jack, surrounded by all of the angels who ever lived.
He didn’t expect the choice their new God would give him, give all the angels.
He didn’t expect to have to call Sam to pick him up, because Dean was too drunk to answer his phone.
As far as reunions go, Castiel certainly didn’t expect it to go like this.
Or, the last thing Dean remembers is downing a bottle of whiskey and having a nicer dream than normal about Cas only to find the angel he thought was dead asleep right next to him.
