Carmy folds his arms again, toying with his fork. “Anyways, it’s gonna happen.”
“Right,” Sydney says. “Blind faith. Let it rip.”
“And,” Carmy says, pointing the fork at her, “because you’re you, and this is insane.” He gestures to their empty dishes.
Sydney ducks her head, tries hard not to let his praise tilt her off her stool and onto the floor. “Shut up.”
-- Testing for The Bear's menu, Sydney cooks for Carmy. They share a conversation and a meal. Sydney does her best to be emotionally mature while battling real actual demons (romantic attraction towards her coworker).
