Summary
It’s been a while, Patroclus thinks.
He attributes Achilles’ tardiness to matters at the House. Perhaps the stranger, who’s not so strange anymore, had a grand fight with his lord father, leaving their house in disrepair. Perhaps shades are causing trouble. Perhaps he simply overslept. No matter. There are many things to occupy his time, from the herb garden to tidying his home. Their home, built by the shades under Hades’ employ. Or rather, at the behest of the stranger.
When Achilles is captured during Chronos' invasion, Patroclus wonders why he has left him again.

Summary
"I am sorry. You deserved more than I could give you. Know that I am speaking now, safer and taken care of. Who would’ve thought?”
Lights shift from white to a warm orange, like falling autumn leaves.
“You would tell me how you worried about me. After each stage, each moment. But you need not worry about me anymore, and I’ll show you why."
Primrose dedicates her first play to Yusufa.

Summary
The solid pounding of feet against concrete, the exhilaration of flight, his beating heart—it all felt so damn good. Arms spread as he taunted the cops and leapt off the ledge? The best. Looking back, they were all distractions from the emptiness, the pain of his memories. After the quick rush, his heart was slow, somber. There was no thrill in seeking answers washed away in blood, extinguished by flames, gone with the smoke.
He was alone, back then. Now, he reconsiders.
After the rain falls, Sugiura recovers and reflects.

Summary
Warriors fought or perished in the attempt, leaving history to interpret their actions as brave or foolish. As long as Roland survived, that was enough for him. Against the final flash of steel, he had fulfilled his duty. If nothing else, he would reunite with his beloved beyond the stars, telling her how he was sorry, so sorry…
Together with Roland, Maxwell lays his past to rest.

Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
Trevor and Sypha return to the castle after two long, weary months, unaware of exactly who and what awaits them when they do.

Summary
Before the young god-prince learns of his mother and plots his escape, Zagreus wishes for a bit of earth to plot a garden.
The prince consults Achilles, of all souls, about the act of growing things. Asks for Achilles to describe to him the plants and flowers and trees of the surface world, from the shape of their leaves to their texture and smell. Asks how deep the roots of trees go, what it is like to sit beneath their shade, and listens raptly to all Achilles says of the worms and beetles who live in the dirt.
“I’m afraid I rather took it all for granted.” Achilles admits, ashamed, one day-or-night as Zagreus sits cross-legged on the floor of his chambers patiently while Achilles tries, and fails, to draw a passable image of an olive tree on a sheet of parchment.

Summary
Osvald finds himself improperly equipped for his next journey. (please check the tags -- here be spoilers! if you haven't played Partitio's chapter 3, even the rest of this preview is a mild spoiler!)
“Fancy meeting you here,” someone says, some hours later. Osvald looks up. The person who’d called out to him is dressed in unremarkable, workmanlike brown, with a floppy hat jammed down over his hair. It’s all so relentlessly, deliberately plain that it takes Osvald a long moment to place him.
“Alrond!”
“Shh,” Alrond says. He’s smiling as he says it. “It’s supposed to be a secret.”
(Behind him, no fewer than three of the townsfolk look over at Osvald and make a show of rolling their eyes.)
