Cheng Xiaoshi went wherever life took him. The more active he tried to be, the more he just messed things up for himself, and so he was forced into a passive role. Always following orders, always following what his parents told him, always following what his teachers thought was best for him.

Summary
Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling reconnect with an old friend from university, who tells Cheng Xiaoshi she loves him. Platonically? Romantically? Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't know either. Cheng Xiaoshi subsequently struggles with the idea of being loved, the notion of family and his own feelings.
Meanwhile, Lu Guang can feel his own boundaries slipping despite his better judgement. And is busy angsting, but hey, what's new, really?
There's quite a plot twist in this, actually.
