Stopped at chapter 8. Main character is recovering from a 2 year shimmer binge. Their childhood friend is Viktor, they meet at the bridge between Zaun and Piltover. MC is 2 weeks off shimmer and it shows bad. Viktor takes them to his apartment, gets them an interview at a library, and Jacye meets them. Things are looking up in an abnormal way. Despite the chronic pain, shimmer riddled arm, and living in a city gilded in fools gold things are good. Mc spends the day with Jacye; he asks about her gloved arm, she lies, she asks about the stones in his lab, he shares half truths. It’s a good day. The night is filled with odd dreams of nonexistent memories and a mystery ferryman. After being startled awake, we are allowed a calm moment with Viktor to reflect on the day and enjoy his company.
