Being sent to the Rito in the dead of winter is a punishment. Link is ostensibly relieving the longtime Hylian military attaché, so this could be construed a promotion—but for the timing.
Another birthday has come and gone, and still he has not presented. And even though everyone expects him to be appointed the Princess’s knight, one thing is for sure—the King will never select anyone but an alpha. And he certainly won’t trust his only child with someone who hasn’t even presented yet. Maybe it would be different if Link had the sword that seals the darkness, but he doesn’t.

just an incredible piece of fiction. if i could print this fic out and eat it it wouldn't be enough. if i could see this animated in perfect 1080 it still wouldn't be enough. i need to live in this fic, to breathe it in, to explore the world so lovingly crafted here. it's so good. it's so good.

The boys owe Jody a few dozen favours, and so when her niece goes missing near an old fishing village on the coast of Maine, Dean, Sam, and a newly human Castiel agree to take the case on. They settle into an old abandoned lighthouse-keepers' cottage, and slowly the tide comes in. (post-s8)

to read "a complete kingdom" is to be changed irreparably. i cannot stress this enough. this is an awe-inspiring work, a masterclass in talent and skill, and it WILL make you feel sick to your stomach DOZENS of times over. i am always coming back to this, the sea, and when i do i am driven mad by it in ways that i dont think i'll ever have the words to express. this is an absolute masterpiece. just cannot recommend it enough.
