Summary
As James turns his back, Sherlock is reminded of the form of the Princess. Quickly realising that James may be the key to unlocking his blurred memories, James agrees to help Sherlock recall the events of last night. But all too soon Sherlock begins to notice that in place of Shou’an, a certain stubborn grin takes its place in his mind, and the touch that he craves doesn’t come from tender, soft hands, but rather the ink-stained ones of an all too familiar face.

Summary
Sherlock and James are visiting Ireland, having faked their deaths at Reichenbach Falls and run away together. They travel round Ireland piecing together James’s murky past, two idiots in love attempting to very ineptly negotiate through their very different ideas on life and sex.
James is an angsty mess, using rough sex as a coping mechanism. Meanwhile Sherlock is dealing with his own crisis while heading unerringly in the direction of the nearest violent anti-English protesters. What could possibly go wrong?

“I have the strongest urge to bite you,” is what James decides on, ever-able to be entirely unpredictable. Sherlock’s smile didn’t falter. He made a show of a mild shrug, and said:
“Well?”
“Oh careful,” a warm hand touched his neck, thumb under his jaw. “Careful,” lower, his pupils blown and entirely honed, breath soft on Sherlock’s cheeks.
There was something fixating, and equally intimidating, about James like this. At the edge of restraint.
Sherlock didn’t feel like being careful.

Modern AU. Sherlock (majored in law) and James (majored in mathematics) go to the same university. They minor in psychology and meet in lecture. They end up renting a flat together. Evelyn, Sherlock’s sister, stays over frequently. Along with her aloof boyfriend August. “I won't have that in my home-” he said firmly, as though the alternative was simply unthinkable. “Christ alive, Sherlock, it's probably got every disease known to man–and then a couple more!” He tried to reason his way out of this mess–Sherlock had liked reason, once upon a time. Apparently not anymore, though.
“I disagree–it seems to be a perfectly fine cat. And it will be useful for your rehabilitation,” Sherlock announced with utmost confidence, swaying forward on his feet with that infuriatingly selfsure look in his eyes. “You need to learn how to look after a living thing besides yourself–” James opened his mouth to speak, and was immediately cut off, “–one that isn't me.”
The cat wound itself around James’ legs, and reached up to claw at the tapestry chair he was sitting in. He glared at it; it backed off. He turned the same glare on Sherlock; Sherlock did not back off. What an utter prick.
OR:
The “James Moriarty gets a cat” fic. Well, Sherlock finds a cat, determines that it would be a delightful addition to their household, and promptly adopts it. James isn't pleased with this development... But maybe it won't be all bad.
