“Sooo, are you uh- free to go out.. tonight?”
Sonic the hedgehog asked Shadow the hedgehog, with a genuine look on his face. The black hedgehog raised a brow, looking at the other hedgehog curiously.
“My schedule appears to be empty tonight. Why'd you asked?”
The blue hedgehog began fiddling with his thumbs, looking away to think about a word. After a few moments of silencs, he returned his gaze with Shadow in an instant.

Summary
Shadow is very particular about his coffee– he has to have it made just right or it won’t be good at all. That’s why he saves money and carefully crafts his own at home. But one morning when he’s running late to G.U.N., which never happens (he slept in after having a strange dream of swirling blue and green), he has to stop by a random coffee cabin on the way. He picked something off the seasonal menu that sounded acceptable.
When he takes his first sip while riding away, he can’t help but whip his head around to look back at the small coffee shack to sketch it into his memory. No one ever made it the exact T that he did, they either used too much syrup, or drowned out the espresso with too much milk. He could taste the bitter flavor of the espresso and fragrant flavor of lavender, paired with the slight sweetness of honey to balance it out.
It was the best thing he’d ever had.
Who made his order again? A hedgehog like him- but blue, with striking green eyes. Why did that sound familiar?Or: Sonic owns a small coffee shack “Sonic’s Speedy Sips” and Shadow becomes a very loyal customer.

Black hedgehog ears flicker towards the giggling gossip, the gloved hand that was outreached to the determining factor of his future pausing.
“He might as well win every year. That hedgehog is never settling down.”
Both ears press back against his head, a grimace spread across his tan muzzle.
“Well, his catchphrase is ‘Gotta Go Fast.’ I doubt there’s anyone who would be able to keep up with him.”
Focus, his mind chides. Grab the test and get out of here.
“Please. There are plenty. He needs someone who is worth slowing down for.”
