James was with his friends when it happened. They were eating at the Gryffindor table when Lily called him and, for some reason, James' eyes passed through the Slytherin table before laying his eyes on Lily. Regulus was still smiling but this time he was just listening to whoever was talking to him. Sirius always said that Regulus was a good listener, that he loved the times his parents had a meeting with the other evil families - and those where Sirius' words, not James'! - and they could just talk and talk for hours. He had one of his hands on his chin and never took his eyes of his friend. Suddenly Regulus stopped smiling and arched his eyebrows, giving a bored glare to the Gryffindor table and -
"James? Are you even listening?"
