Abaddon may not be as powerful as he once was, but a pact with him still has plenty of benefits—and he'll prove it. Ben's school-related problem presents the perfect opportunity.

Summary
Charlie's well aware she can come off as… abrasive, sometimes. Her enthusiasm isn't easy for most denizens of Hell to swallow. She’s worked to tone it down as the hotel’s grand reopening creeps closer, giving residents more space and swapping the flashy events for more casual gatherings. Charlie wants her new (and old!) friends to feel as comfortable as possible, after all! Especially since Alastor still hasn’t forgiven her for what happened…
But there’s one issue that’s not as easily solved. And unluckily, Charlie’s pretty sure it’s her most abrasive feature of all. But she’s not so sure this is a part of herself she can tone down—or even wants to tone down. Even if… everybody else… might want that.
Maybe there’s a way to compromise.

“There’s a few people left,” Charlie explains, ever patient. “But they’ll be here soon.” It's dim, but the candles adorning the three cakes placed on the table allow for some measure of visibility. Seated in chairs across from them, blurred by flickering orange fire, are the others, masked faces warping into the images of Michael's nightmares with every jump of the candle.But then the flames brighten, illuminating instead the visage of lost children, and the panic in Michael’s lungs stills somewhat. Charlie's hand tightens around his own. “This way,” She tells him, quietly, and he follows. "Family sits with family."

Against Charlie's instruction, Fritz, Susie, and Jeremy decide to explore the backrooms of the pizzeria. Susie is beginning to recall scattered memories from her past, and searches for something important. Fritz just wants to understand how all this happened in the first place. Jeremy's undecided.
Later, Fritz and Charlie have a talk about the future.

Summary
Being dead doesn't turn out to be all that important, in the grand scheme of things. The world keeps spinning, people still go on without you, and eventually, you have to come to terms with the fact that someone is going to have to stop your father from killing more people, and nobody else is lining up for the task. But Michael has a talent for postponing deadlines, and he's going to delay this particular destiny for as long as humanely possible.
