Summary
"Peter did not want to be at this party.
That was not unusual, exactly. He didn’t want to do a lot of things until he was already there, and then occasionally, it turned out ok. Sometimes his brain would do this thing where it treated being asked to participate in normal, high school social life like he was being asked to walk in traffic. Then, once he actually got somewhere, he would remember that people were not always terrible, music was sometimes ok, and sometimes there were snacks. Sometimes, he could even relax and have a good enough time.
This, however, was not one of those times."
~~~
After a party leaves Peter with memories he cannot name and a body he no longer feels safe inside, he begins to disappear in ways no one around him understands.
Tony knows something is wrong. May knows Peter is slipping. They can see the signs of an imminent collapse Peter refuses to explain. But Peter insists he’s fine, even as his demons pull him further under, threatening to drown him.
By the time Peter can admit what happened, the people who love him are not just trying to uncover the truth. They are trying to keep him alive long enough to survive it.
Summary
The soft tap of Shinji’s sandals echoed through the dusk, each step slow, lazy. Hands tucked in his sleeves, he moved through the breeze-swept path as the Seireitei sky faded to a pale violet hush, muting even the Eleventh’s usual racket.
Turning onto a lesser-used path near the training grounds, he blinked-once, slowly.
A familiar figure leaned against a post, all relaxed stance and easy smile.
Jirou Takemura, Fifth Seat of the Eleventh. Shinji only remembered him because eleventhies always left an impression-and they'd spoken once or twice. Enough for the face to stick.
Too tall. Broad-shouldered. Hair tied back in a lazy ponytail, looking good without trying and clearly knowing it.
Shinji clicked his tongue. Anyone taller than fucking Rose was already too tall-and Takemura definitely was. Still, he decided to play nice.
Tilting his head, smirk curling, he called out, “Well, if it ain’t the calmest beast in the zoo. You losin’ somethin’, or just workin’ on your moody aesthetic in questionable light?”
