It’s a gamble and he knows it, but the sharp inhale that Little makes as he brushes one finger over the button of his greatcoat is more than worth it. “It could use tightening. I could do that for you now, if you’d like.”

After an argument with Maekar goes sideways, adding another blow to Daeron's incredibly bad morning, he runs off to drown himself in wine and sorrows, hoping that one day his sadness will wash away. After he goes too far, Egg and Dunk, who have paused their adventures so Egg can visit his family, end up finding him. Together, they begin to pick up the broken pieces that are Daeron Targaryen, and put him back together.
