Summary
Not again,” Enid groaned as the scene materialized before her. A Large ballroom, dark wood walls with intricate carved panels towering up toward a vaulted ceiling.
Enid turned and studied the occupants of the ballroom hoping to recognize someone she knew to try and figure out where or when she might be.
A bright peel of laughter echoed across the ballroom and Enid turned with a gasp. How had she missed that?

“Will we keep in touch?” Enid quietly asks, breaths coming out in soft puffs that Wednesday can feel against her face. “When I finally escape this town and go to San Francisco, will we still be friends?”
“Of course,” Wednesday tells her, and the lie curls itself around her throat until she is drowning, suffocating, and cannot breathe.
