Summary
Rozanov reaches out for him, and the world splits open.
Fire ignites in his palm, flaring through every nerve in his hand, cutting through skin and sinew and bones. His chest is so full it might burst, and his lungs forget how to work. The heat shoots up his arm like lightning, down his spine and across his ribs, continuing down, down, down. He feels it—feels his seed erupt into something sharp and blinding, roots threading under his skin and stem unfurling onto his flesh.
Shane immediately jerks back his hand, as if he was electrocuted. Air crashes into him all at once, as the burning fades into a tingling throb. He stands there stunned, his mind in tatters and unable to comprehend all the sensations happening to him.
His right ankle, his soulmark... And it just reacts to Ilya Rozanov.
Or: In a world where soulmarks are living seeds that grow by physical touch, Shane's flowers bloom when he is with Ilya. Yet, he cannot find the traces of any mark on Ilya's body.
(Shane refuses to let this matter go, and they cannot resist being drawn to each other anyway.)

Summary
Ilya looks directly at blue eyes identical to his own—so intimately familiar and somehow also dazedly distinct—as he tightens his grip and growls into Shane’s ear.
“We will both fuck you at the same time. Show your current husband and your future husband how desperate you are, how you are made just for us, yes?”
He can feel Shane shiver underneath his palm, one hand rising up to caress reverently at Ilya’s fingers around his neck, his words trembling and broken into a shallow, breathless rasp.
“Yes please… Make me take it, Ilya.”
Or: On July 10th 2025, to celebrate the 15-year anniversary of their first night together, Shane and Ilya re-enact their CCM photoshoot and stay in the exact same hotel at room 1410. When they find a confused, nineteen-year-old Ilya knocking on their door, they proceed to make the best use of him.

Summary
They are lounging together on Ilya’s couch and basking in the post-sex glow, Ilya eating matcha ice cream while Shane has some sliced apples and melons, when Ilya throws the question out of the blue.
“Remember when I asked how many times you can come in an hour?”
Shane rolls his eyes. “Yes, you sexted me right before an important game, how could I ever forget.”
“Soooo,” Ilya licks the spoon and swirls it around, nudging and tickling Shane’s socked feet with his own bare ones. “I’ve been thinking, we should test it out. See who can do better. For science.”

Summary
If only—if only Shane can slide back to bed, to fall asleep beside Ilya and wake up beside him, to just pretend that the outside world does not exist. Shane would like to learn the shapes of Ilya’s routines, the things that make him laugh when he is tired, the expression he wears first thing in the morning before he remembers to hide himself from the world, yet safe in the knowledge that he doesn’t need to hide it from Shane.
Somehow, without meaning to, his mind has leapt much further than that, to tomorrow, and every tomorrow after tomorrow, all the same with Ilya in his arms. Shane realizes, with a careless certainty like a dream, that he can do this forever.
And oh, isn’t that a terrifying thought? To look at another person and discover that your mind and your heart have begun to create pieces of the future around them without your permission?
Or: Shane confronts the truth that he has spent years running from, following the aftermath of his disastrous night with Rose. In the stillness of Tampa, he shows Ilya just exactly how much he means it.

Seen. That small, clinical word beneath his text feels heavier than it should. Rozanov has read his message, has processed that information, so by this time he must have made a conscious decision to not reply to Shane. He doesn’t know why this is bothering him so much. He has no right to be upset, he is not entitled to Rozanov’s time nor constant attention. They are not… together, he isn’t even sure if they count as close—as friends.
And yet, he keeps staring at his phone, feeling the familiar and prickling discomfort under his skin. Why isn’t Rozanov replying?

He hasn’t prepared for any of this—for the tenderness that follows the storm, only for the storm to sweep away everything again. He doesn’t know how to deal with Rozanov’s confusing words and contradicting actions, with both fire and ice, both closeness and distance, all at the same time.
Every time Shane feels like he manages to understand Rozanov a little, the pattern shifts, and he is once again left with splintered pieces that don’t make sense.
Or: All the messages Shane sent to Ilya during the six long months between Sochi and Vegas, and the ones he did not send.

Holiday to buy cheap shit at stores the day after after another holiday of eating dry bird. Holidays that seem mostly about getting black-out drunk.
There are too fucking many.
