The water’s surface broke with the force of Marc’s flailing body as waves rushed opposite him, droplets slinging every which way as his lungs heaved and coughed for breath. Marc's aching form crawled up the steps, hacking up blood out of his mouth as a single bullet fell out with what remained of the water that had been lodged in his lungs. Eyes spicy from the amount of strain he was exerting, head throbbing along with each drum of his now living and beating heart.

With their bodies now separated, Marc and Steven must traverse a new life as their own, individual entity. They must also try and break their bird brain out of jail, save the world from both Arthur and Ammit, while also trying to process their increasing feelings for one another.
