"Is that normal?"
Barkovitch abruptly looked away, staring into the distance again in an attempt to escape.
"It depends on who you ask," he finally replied, fleeing as usual.
"I'm asking you."
At that, Barkovitch's gaze returned to his face, to his eyes. He frowned almost imperceptibly and studied Stebbins's face, as if searching for the answer.
"I guess I don't care anymore if it isn't."
Before Stebbins could even think about how he should react to that, Barkovitch's lips were back on his. His hands, both free now given the lack of real force applied to his wrist, flew to his face, pressing them together, as if he wanted to merge with him.
Stebbins would like that.
