Summary
I spent a couple of months with a brainworm, wrote furiously, then moved on. This is an archive of many (not all) of the written content. Here's a summary:
One day, Fiddleford met Bill. He tried to talk to Ford, and learned about the arrangement. The three form a very tense working relationship, but Fidds is constantly watching for a slip-up.
He eventually gets the evidence he needs. Bill decides to work with a human "glitch:" he rapes Fidds, knowing that the experience will be so shameful that it will make it difficult for Fidds to be honest with Ford. It works better than intended: Fidds erases the night from his memory, complete with damning evidence. Bill makes this a regular routine to silence Fidds.
Eventually, Fidds confesses to Ford, and the two begin to work together against Bill. In the process, they involve Mrs. McGucket (by accident) and Stanley (on purpose).
The four of them keep working together until Emma-Mae takes matters into her own hands and wipes anomalies from Ford's mind - and Bill with them.
She goes on to become a witch and dedicated banisher of supernatural evil. The four of them become a household. In the aftermath, they work out their various emotional issues.

Xie Zheng’s worried gaze lingered on her and the barely touched roasted pheasant meat in her little bowl.
“Why aren’t you eating?”
Changning looked up slowly at the sound of his voice – but still not making any eye contact.
“I’m not hungry,” she mumbled listlessly.
Xie Zheng frowned faintly.
Earlier, before they started the journey after the battle, Gongsun Yin had already warned him that the fright and exhaustion might bring on a fever. At the time, when he handed her the last of Changyu’s tangerine peel candy, she seemed alright – even if her face seemed pale and tired from everything she had endured.
But now she looked worse. Not dramatically so – if someone hadn’t known her, they might have thought that she was just a quiet, well-behaved, shy child, and praised her for her manners.
But to Xie Zheng’s eyes – who spent so much time in the company of his little sister-in-law in more peaceful times in Lin’an – the difference was glaringly obvious.
She was not okay.
And thinking about the reason she wasn’t her usual self, made guilt settle unpleasantly beneath his ribs again.
