Summary
Tim Bradford's pride and joy has always been his mother's beloved bakery, 'Cake a Diem'.
In the nine years of owning the bakery, Tim's life had splintered slightly, glued back together only to be smashed into smithereens.
Tim Bradford had gained and lost everything far more times than any human being should ever have had to, and yet one thing still remained, one thing had kept him sane and given him the will to keep going - the bakery.
He had always known that it had not only saved but changed his life in more ways than one, but he never expected for it to give him something that he was so certain he would never experience again in his lifetime.
He had never, not once, even dared to think that his quaint little bakery would bring him something, bring him someone, that he had been searching for for as long as he could remember.
It was a ridiculous notion, he thought.
That is, at least, until Lucy Chen walked into the bakery, her brown eyes red and puffy, filled with tears and heartache, mascara smudged across her face from where she'd clearly been crying, and suddenly his world had been turned on its axis once more.
