“Mu-shidi,” Yue Qingyuan speaks up, taking his seat at the head of the table. “Have you heard of this curse?”
“I’m afraid not,” Mu Qingfang says, shaking his head. “A curse of compulsion, with dire consequences for disobedience… I’ve heard of many similar things, but not exactly this.”
“For all we know, the perpetrator invented this little trap just for us,” Shen Qinqiu says, tapping his fan dangerously. “Tailormade to ruin us.”
“I have no secrets to hide,” Liu Qingge says, and lifts his chin challengingly at Shen Qingqiu, who bristles in return. “Do you?”
“Ah, Liu-shidi, if you don’t have any secrets then you should get some real quick!” Shang Qinghua says with bright, manic cheer, his smile and his eyes a little too wide. “The consequences for not meeting the curse’s requirements would be very very bad!”

Summary
He slashes his sword at his own disciple, but by then Yue Qingyuan has come close enough that he can block it with his sheathed Xuan Su.
“Shidi!” he cries. “Please do not do anything hasty; you are having a qi deviation--”
And then his voice dies in his throat, as he gets his first proper look at Shen Qingqiu. The blood on his face - for a moment, it veiled from him the symbol glowing on his forehead. A demon mark, dark and poisonous green. There are bloody lines over it, as if someone - as if Shen Qingqiu has tried to scratch it away, digging his nails in until blood welled up.
Shen Qingqiu takes one blank moment to take in Yue Qingyuan’s presence, and the direction of his gaze. And then he starts to laugh.
“Good, this is good!” he laughs. “Yue Qingyuan, you came just in time. There are two filthy demons here before you. Quickly, kill them.”

Yue Qingyuan feels the same way. What did he just suggest? But despite himself, he continues.
“If you-- if you feel the need to visit a brothel, then-- just come find me instead. I won’t expect anything from you, including gratitude, and I won’t tell anyone about it either. That way it’ll be… it won’t cause you any trouble.”
