Summary
“How’s school going?” Joyce asks.
“Good. It’s…going good,” Mike replies. She nods and sips her hot chocolate.
“Mrs. Byers.” She looks up at him and Mike feels his heart beat faster. “Why did you make three hot chocolates?”
She takes her time to answer. “I don’t know,” she replies after a while. “It felt like the right thing to do today.”
Today. Today’s weird, Mike thinks.
“It’s March 22nd today.”
“I know.”or

Summary
“Shut up!” Mike says with a scowl. “I meant, like…I was just thinking…why don’t we just do it? Why don’t Will and I kiss?”
It’s as if you could hear a pin drop.
Lucas stares at Mike like he’s grown an extra head. Dustin and El exchange a meaningful look. Even Max, who just a moment ago had been happily poking fun at Mike, is seemingly at a loss for words.
Will is silent too, color rising to his cheeks. It’s one thing for Max to suggest it; it’s another entirely for Mike to double down. Mike, his best friend for as long as he can remember. Mike, who regardless of any newfound warmth could barely touch Will for an entire year. Mike, who is oblivious to the fact that Will is desperately in love with him.
Mike, who despite all that said Why don’t Will and I kiss as if it were the simplest thing in the world.
After his first semester of college ends, Will is more than happy to spend a relaxing New Year's Eve in Mike's basement with the rest of the Party. Things go off the rails, however, when Max and El ask everyone to join in on an interesting new tradition—a tradition which may or may not involve him and Mike sharing a kiss.

Summary
Both of their bodies shake as they catch their breath. Will’s still hard, and his sweat is starting to dry uncomfortably on his skin, but all he can focus on is Mike.
It’s times like these he’s reminded how lucky he is to have Mike in this way. To see this side of him, this side that still feels too new and too intimate and too overwhelming all at once. Sometimes, he thinks he might be bitter. Resentful of his lot in life, being so painfully in love with someone who will so obviously never feel the same way. On his bad days, he even thinks he might resent Mike.
Like this, though, he knows that could never be true. Not really. Sure, it hurts, only ever having Mike halfway, knowing his body but never his soul. Yes, it’s going to kill him when Mike inevitably finds someone new and runs off into the sunset, leaving him in the dust again.
But it’s Mike. He'll take whatever he can get.
When he and Mike end up in bed together after graduation, they fall into something dangerously easy. Or, at least, it would be easy, if it weren’t the most painful thing Will’s ever done.

Summary
When Will was a kid, his mom says he was obsessed with the pretty colors on his wrist. He would sit for hours, book open to all the different colors, using his pencils and crayons to sketch out a random person, as bright and colorful as their emotions. He could watch the colors swirl for hours, ignoring the black crescent moon curved around the middle of the patch to instead focus on the different shades.
His father would always scoff. Boys should not be so fond of their marks, he would say, shaking his head in disappointment. His mom always protected him from the worst of it, though, and when Will was eight, his father left and never came back and he wasn’t really that upset.
~~~~~~~~~~
On your wrist, you have a black mark and colors that represent your soulmate's emotions. Fitting for Will, being the artist that he is.
Summary
Mike sighs, looking down at his hands. "I always thought I would end up with someone more similar to me, you know? Someone I can talk about, like, hobbies and music and stuff with, without them visibly losing interest halfway through.”
You have more in common with him than El, says the voice in Will’s head. He wonders, briefly, whether it would be weird to shove his face back into the pillow and scream.
Will is definitely not qualified to be giving out any relationship advice. For one, he's never actually dated anyone before. Second, one of the people in said relationship is his sister. And third, the other person is the guy he's sort of in love with. There's no possible way this could backfire. Right?
