In this world, there are rare people who cannot taste anything but the distinct flavors of other rare people.
Predators, or forks as they are called in dignified circles, have lost their taste for anything other than Cakes.
Cakes, other people, who are sweet, flavorful, intoxicating. But only to the distinct tastes of forks.
Princess Charlotte is a fork.
Ange le Carré is a cake.
And things would be so much simpler if Ange were not also a spy, and Charlotte was not trying to take the throne to change the world.
And if there were no other forks, hunting, stalking, preying on cakes. -
