When Shouto wakes, he must be dreaming: at his bedside is Izuku Midoriya.
"It's really you." Shouto rasps, nothing less obvious coming to his addled mind.
Midoriya gives him a soft look, mildly confused. "Of course it's me. Who else would I be?"
"But why... are you here?"
"I got a call from your captain. He said that I was your emergency contact."

Shouto Todoroki presents to the emergency department, unconscious from heat and quirk exhaustion, after battling wildfires in Southern California. Midoriya offers him a place to stay at his apartment until he's fully recovered.It's been two years since the last time they spoke to each other, right before Midoriya's move to Los Angeles. There are some things they need to sort out.

Summary
Xiao does not join his fellow Yaksha at the dining table. His generals have brought it up once or twice but that had largely been in passing and nothing concerning, and Morax had brushed it off as the young Adeptus not feeling comfortable around his seniors just yet. That all changes when he catches him one day, in the dead of the winter night, with trembling limbs and tears in his eyes, choking down snow in the shadows of the main building.
