She feels the words like lashes on her back. They make her remember everything she’s tried to forget but never could because she does know him. She knows that he always ties his shoes with bunny ears, that he only sleeps on his left side, that he cuts his sandwiches into four little triangles but never eats the crust. She knows that his favorite color is blue.
