    After an accident took Carl's eye, he became more isolated learning to cope with his loss. Other kids stare at him. Friends stop speaking to him. Even the teachers don't know how to act. All except one. Carl finds his gym teacher Negan to be his sole comfort throughout his senior year.

    But another traumatic event leaves Carl questioning what he wants from life. He soon learns to take his frustration out a different way. A violent way. And with Negan's reluctant help, they form a new kind of friendship.

    “Hey!” Negan snaps his fingers in front of the kid’s face. “Are you hurt?”

    “I-” Carl looks down at himself. There's blood on his shirt. He knows he probably has to explain that. “It's not mine.”

    Negan only notices after he asks that Carl is holding a knife. It might be the one he usually keeps on his belt, not that that information matters much. He tries to think about if he did something to this kid that might make him want to put a hole through him, but nothing comes to mind. If anything, he thought the kid actually liked him.
