Summary
Izuku was kidnapped at the age of seven by villains after the death of his parents, and since then he has was used as a test subject for various experiments and other horrible things.
Resigned to his miserable new life, he spent the subsequent years trying to survive. Until one day he learned something horrible, and with that last straw that broke the camel's back and a new motivation in mind, he finally decided to escape. And to his pleasing surprise, he really did it! (sure, he almost died in the process, but that's not important.)
But if he was honest, he didn't think he would go that far.
So the new problem was that he didn't know how to continue.

“Grace. What are you testing, question?”
Rocky. I can’t put this all on the guy right now. He should be happy. We are going to Erid. We are going to save his planet.
“CBC. A complete blood count.” I answer, hoping he doesn’t ask me why.
“Purpose, question?”
Rocky, please. I’m trying to spare you right now.
Basically, Grace gets exposed to a dangerous amount of radiation during an EVA and doesn't want to tell Rocky bc of what happened to Rocky's crew <3
THIS IS A REWORKED VERSION OF "TEMPEST" - after some comments, I wanted to keep the soul of the story, but make it more scientifically plausible. While there are still probably some inaccuracies, I still hope this isn't as messy as before.

Summary
Midoriya Izuku's bad relationship with heights started at a young age.
It had started festering when he first hurt himself falling.
It grew violent when he first learned what it felt like to fall out a window.
And it turned into cold hatred when he first learned that jumping didn't always mean getting away, sometimes it meant getting trapped.But as much as he hated heights, Izuku thought it looked pretty from 30 meters up high.
It was also weird, he thought, that in movies they portray people as crying, screaming, whimpering, and being so emotional as they stand on the edge.
Izuku just felt empty.
A sense of calm finality.
This was it.
This was how he was always destined to end up.
He closed his eyes and breathed."Midoriya, step away from the edge, kid"
And Izuku’s eyes shot open. -

Shouta can't take care of a kid on his own, so he has to figure out how to move forward without hurting said kid in the process.
