Summary
Basilton Pitch, twenty-two years old and a famed poet of the Romantic era, has fled to the countryside. In Mummers House, the fabled haunt of literary greats, he sulks himself into oblivion and awaits a sad, disappointing end to his brief years of brilliance. The cause of his downfall? None other than Simon Snow, the so-called “bad boy of English poetry”, breaker of rules and eternal thorn in his side. Baz hopes that Mummers House might mean an escape from London, from Snow and his increasingly virulent popularity... but the rain that comes has other ideas.

Summary
“Those things will kill you,” Baz growled after him, but the door had already closed. Not that it mattered, since what Baz really meant was “I’ll kill you” and Dev certainly knew that already given the particular video shop patron he’d just dumped in Baz’s lap. The one and only (unfairly attractive) customer Baz had demanded he never be made to serve at all.
Not because this customer was a heathen who never rewound, or a meathead who only rented terrible movies, though Baz was nearly certain after several weeks of careful monitoring that he was both of these things. The actual problem was the way this boy’s broad shoulders looked in the uniform (a slightly too small white dress shirt with a green bowtie) he wore to his job working at the Safeway down at the other end of the Watford Retail Park. Maybe his adorable freckles were part of it, too. And that little hollow right above his shirt collar where his jaw met his throat. And the way his arse looked in his cheap polyester work trousers. And—
Okay no, actually, the problem was that Baz was completely gay.

Book 5 in the Breakaway series featuring:
Dev— a blueliner rookie with a traumatic past living with Alex and Eli for his first season on the Hounds’ roster, and Theo—Alex’s half-brother who shows up seeking sanctuary after being inhospitably booted from his college/trust fund when his parents find out he’s trans.
After an antagonistic introduction, Theo and Dev realize they may have more in common than they initially thought (and maybe they should kiss about it??), but they’ll have to engage in a “friends with benefits” agreement full of mutual pining for a good long while before admitting anything like feelings—all while dealing with hockey-related subterfuge, blackmail, and parents who probably shouldn’t be.

Summary
The scene is set: Prague in December as winter drapes itself over the city, casting everything in shades of grey and white. Baz Pitch thinks he knows exactly what the immediate future holds — a mediocre day of broken scenes and forgotten lines, followed by a night alone in a lumpy hotel bed. After that? Nothing. But when he walks away from a film set with a stranger's paintings in hand, he doesn't realise what he's about to (quite literally) stumble into. He might find that there's more around the next corner than just another blank page...and he might find words waiting for him, to replace those he lost.
