She leaned over to reach for her desk chair—her skirt riding up with the motion. Viktoria turned her head away from Jayce.
“You have a tear in your stockings,” Viktoria blurted out, then gasped, startled by the lack of her usually impeccable filter.
Jayce’s hand stilled where it clutched the back of the chair, midway through rolling it over. Her nose scrunched akin to a rabbit, confusion (adorably) evident on her face. However, she then glanced down and caught sight of the tear herself.
Her lips quirked downwards in a look of soft annoyance.
“Not again!” Jayce bemoaned. She leaned against the desk, lifting up her leg to further inspect the distressed fabric. Jayce’s skirt rode up impossibly higher. Viktoria could almost catch a glimpse of tan skin, hidden away.

Rationally, Jayce knows that Viktor is only lashing out because he's tired and in pain and feels both vulnerable having to expose himself so unwittingly and to have his agency robbed from him yet again; a snarling, injured dog backed into a corner through no fault of his own and no mercy of the world, but still snapping fiercely at the hand that tries to free him.
However, emotionally, Jayce won't deny that it hurts him to still see him fight the help and to not allow himself the validation of acknowledging his struggles that are born of the shitty hand he's been dealt. Not the hand itself — whose individual and societal implications have been discussed ad nauseam on countless occasions — but the frustrating way Viktor intellectualizes his problems without ever feeling them, trapping him in a never-ending loop of false closure.
"Yeah, a bath." He reiterates sarcastically.
