Kazuma shrugs, "Besides, it's none of our business where it came from."
"... Maybe not, but…" His friend lowers his voice, furrowing his brow in thought. "You're curious though, aren't you?"
On the surface, Kazuma has no interest in van Zieks' personal life, nor does he indulge in gossip about his superiors. At least, he tries not to. But this is… different. Oddly enough, this sort of mundane rumour is the exact opposite of what he's grown accustomed to; workplace chatter about relationships and marriage feels positively ridiculous when compared to the usual talk of corruption and murder. Ryunosuke is right. It does feel weird, even if it is just because van Zieks is being accused of marrying someone he just met instead of the usual legal misconduct. And he would be lying if he denied his friend's accusation.--
In attempting to untangle the truth behind his superior's sudden engagement, Kazuma finds himself untangling his own relationships - with others, himself and the world around him - and it soon becomes clear they are more complicated than he'd ever realised.

“I never suggested you were.” Sholmes says as he stops in front of him and places his hands on his shoulders, applying the slightest amount of pressure. It's by no means a push, but Barok sits back down on the settee nonetheless and lets Sholmes straddle his lap, his body a familiar weight against his own. “All I meant was that as long as you are willing, I see no downsides. So, I'll ask you again. Were you hoping for a repeat performance?”--
In which Barok van Zieks is repressed and miserable, Sholmes is bored and lonely, and the two of them are objectively terrible for eachother.

Summary
He'd spent seven years wearing the same thing every day – a scratchy prison uniform that he could only take off when prosecuting, showering or changing into another, identical jumpsuit. The handful of old sweatshirts and jeans he wears in his free time is luxury compared to that.
Plus, wearing the same thing over and over means avoiding this.
This being a grim reminder of why he exclusively shops online as he stares at his reflection under the fluorescent lights of a changing room.

Ryuunosuke’s gaze hardens for a moment and Kazuma can see him weighing up the pros and cons in his head, his decision no doubt clouded by the same lust that had influenced the suggestion in the first place. Then, after a short silence, he leans in to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth, smiling against his lips. "You're a terrible influence on me, partner," he says, pauses, then adds, "You remember the safeword, don't you?"
"Autopsy," Kazuma recites with a nod before asking, "Is that a yes, Ryuunosuke?"
"... It is."--
Kazuma and Ryuunosuke put an empty office to good use.

Summary
Bloody Mary was desperate. Consumed by bloodlust and the desire to experience warmth, touch, emotion to the point where it made him dangerous. He was scared and lonely and the result of years of trauma and mistreatment from humans. For Red Wine, looking at him was like looking in a mirror.
He knew he could change him, teach him to control his urges and turn him back into the person he must have been before the humans had got to him. Which was why he took him in.
And of course he just had to drag Steak along for the ride. Bastard.

Summary
Adjusting society is a struggle in itself, but Serizawa hadn't been expecting the extra struggle of having feelings for someone that he can never confess. Cue Minegishi who, like him, is still adjusting to a life without Claw (and, by proxy, Shimazaki) and needs something - or rather someone - to distract them.
Serizawa can do that. He's always been good at ignoring his own problems anyway.
OR
In which Minegishi and Serizawa fuck instead of dealing with their emotions.
