Juliette stumbled back, her heart slamming against her ribs as if trying to escape. This wasn’t real. It couldn’t be. She was just another face in the crowd, another fan in the thousands who adored Billie from afar. But fate didn’t care for logic.
Billie took a step closer, her own wrist trembling as she turned it over, confirming the darkened mark. Her lips parted, breath unsteady.
“It’s you,” Billie whispered.
Juliette’s hands shook. “I—this isn’t—I mean, you can’t be—”
Billie’s smile was small, almost hesitant, but her eyes never left Juliette’s. “I think we are.”
The noise of the world faded—the flashing cameras, the distant screams, the hum of the arena—all drowned out by the undeniable truth.
They had found each other.
And nothing would ever be the same again.

“Holy. Shit.”
Rio turns, brows raised. “What?”
Alice doesn’t answer, eyes locked on something past the crowd.
“Seriously, what is it?” Rio asks again.
Then Alice grabs her arm hard enough to nearly knock the drink out of her hand and points.
Rio follows with her eyes. And there, maybe twenty feet away, walking through a break in the crowd like some terrifying fashion shark is Agatha freaking Harkness.
“Didn’t you say your boss was straight? Then why does someone who looks exactly like her just happen to be at Pride...with what looks a whole lot like a hot, gorgeous, probably very gay date?”
OR
Rio lies and calls in sick so she can go to Pride on a workday.

“There was a collision on the highway, due to the stormy weather conditions.” The doctor explained, her voice careful. “Your son and his mother, Rio, were involved. Your son is stable, but shaken. Ms. Vidal sustained critical injuries and is in surgery. You should come as soon as possible.”
Her breath hitched. Her pulse roared in her ears. Her hands shook.
“No.” She whispered, to herself more than Dr Robbins. It didn’t make sense. It couldn’t be real. It couldn’t be happening again.
But the doctor kept talking, giving her more details, repeating herself when she didn’t respond.
And then-
“Momma!”
She sucked in a hiss of a breath at the sound of Nicky’s voice in the background — high, panicked, crying.
“I need my Momma, please! Is she-”
“I’ll be right there.” She blurted out, barely recognizing her own voice.
OR, Agatha gets a call that her ex-wife, Rio, and son, Nicky, were in a car accident. Except, two years prior, the exact same situation caused the two to divorce.
