Summary
“It’s a simple question,” Brad replied, a little impatient at having to repeat himself. “When I get a hundred points in a season, will you take me out on a date or no?”
Or, Brad gets Patrice to make him a promise after his first NHL call-up. Almost a decade later, Patrice--who is not gay, mind you--finds himself planning a date with his best friend.

Summary
Aiden doesn’t remember the first time it happened very clearly. Just a loss to BC, too many drinks, and Ryan Leonard’s mouth against his neck in a dark frat house bedroom.
The second time happens after the Frozen Four—after heartbreak, after confessions, after realizing some feelings were never meant to be returned.
The third time happens on a rainy summer night in Boston, when Ryan shows up soaked to the bone at Aiden’s door with nowhere else to go.
Neither of them are over the people they loved. Neither of them planned for this.
But somehow, they keep finding their way back to each other anyway.

Summary
This is why Will doesn't speak. He lets Mack do the talking, because, yeah, Mack's stupid sometimes, but not nearly as stupid as Will feels right now.
or
Will and Mack are dealing with the ups and downs of the season in the only way they know how - being completely, totally, normal about each other.
