“Oh, this?” Rhaenyra said. Her usually low voice was soft and highly pitched. As though she was surprised to be accosted, her eyes grew wide. Playing at the innocent child that she never had been, always insolent, always up to something. Slowly, she slid her thumbs between the silk of her dress and the gold chain shimmering around her waist.

“You do have beautiful hair, Alicent,” Rhaenyra hisses into her ear, the tip of her tongue almost touching it and Alicent’s eyes flutter shut. “So beautiful,” a hand leaves her hair and Alicent swallows as ringed fingers snake over her throat and collarbone, resting just above her heaving breasts, upon her thundering heart.
“Your heart is beating so fast…are you afraid of me?” Rhaenyra’s hands dip below the surface of the water and cup her teat, but do not touch her hardened nipple. Alicent refuses to open her eyes, trying to escape into herself, as she’s done several times in the past. “Are you afraid of my touch, sweet Alicent? Or are you afraid of how your body is responding to it?”
Alicent bites the inside of her cheek hard, metallic flooding her mouth. She will not give in. She will not surrender the last bit of herself unto this temptation. No matter how sweet Rhaenyra’s hands feel encircled around her breast, near the heart that’s only ever beat for her.

Alicent flinches, shaking her head. She wipes her lips with her other hand—the way she brushes them is unhinged and distressed. She swallows hard and looks up at the ceiling, closing her eyes. She takes a few breaths in and out. Then, when she looks back at Rhaenyra, her eyes are cold and hard, but her voice tells a different story. “Leave me alone. Stay away from me—far away from me. You fucking temptress.”
And the curse leaving her mouth sounds better than Rhaenyra could have ever imagined.
“Temptress? I feel honored,” Rhaenyra chuckles. “You were into it.”
