Summary
It was five years after leaving that Will Solace could not refuse to return. It was five years without looking back before being abruptly turned to face everything that was left behind.
With a life so different from his past, Percy and Annabeth's wedding invitation was enough to remind him of what he considered a parallel reality. He didn't expect to have to go back and he didn't expect to find things as they used to be, but deep down, in a way, he wished for it. Before letting his urge to leave be stronger than his reason to stay.
And Nico Di Angelo remembered. He watched Will grow distant as he sank into the past. He didn't know if he would ever see him look back, but he knew that unconsciously, he had been waiting since the moment he lost him. At the same place.
