Summary
The stone wall begins to lower between them, splitting their world into a distant two. The top student shouldn’t be seen breaking rules with a delinquent rebel.
One convinces herself that they can’t see eye to eye – that she doesn’t need the other…
… just as the other realizes how much she needs her.

“Last night, I dreamt of a green field full of vibrant flowers that went as far as my eyes could see, and a big blue sky filled with clouds that stretched to meet it. There were so many pretty colors, Sonetto!” Raising her hands, Vertin smiles sincerely and makes a large, open motion with her arms. “I wish that you could have seen it.”

Summary
Sonetto silently draws Vertin towards the bed, and gently pushes her onto the sheets. Quickly flicking off the room lights, Sonetto climbs on top of her, holding herself up. Vertin feels Sonetto’s long tresses tickle her face and neck.
This moment in time, they can hear only the sound of their labored breathing in the stillness of their room.
The bright moon hangs in the sky outside their hotel balcony, forgotten but present all the same. Their eyes adjust slowly to the dim light.
