Summary
Shannon Diaz née Garrett had a high tolerance for bullshit. You don’t get married at eighteen, become a mom at nineteen, and survive living under the omnipresent gaze of the world’s most… particular in-laws without developing many, many strategies for self-preservation. Every snide remark about Chris’ CP, every passive aggressive comment from Helena Diaz, every vertebra of Eddie’s liquid spine, Shannon took right on the chin with a smile on her face.
But there was no corner of Shannon’s life that she tested her extreme tolerance for bullshit more than whatever the Samwise-and-Frodo, Bert-and-Ernie, Crockett-and-Tubbs hell was going on between her ex-husband and his best friend.
(In which Shannon Diaz née Garrett lives, gets divorced, and helps her ex-husband realize that he’s in love with his best friend)

Summary
Hi, journal. Weird start, I don’t know how to start. I guess hi, me. This is the first entry of the journal for Dr. Copeland. I don’t really get how it will help, but she’s good at this, so this is probably good too. I didn’t tell her today, but I made the appointment because I’m lonely. I’m really, really lonely. And I don’t know how to say that out loud yet. Hopefully writing it will help.
He puts the pen down and decides that’s enough effort for the first day. He checks his phone, thinking maybe he didn’t notice it buzzing while he wrote. No new messages.
......
Eddie’s in Texas. Maddie is getting ready for baby number 2. Bobby and Athena are building a new house. Everyone is busy with their family, and Buck doesn’t seem to fit anywhere. Dr. Copeland has him start to keep a journal to keep track of how he’s feeling, and all it does is (somehow) make everything worse. When a bad call lands Bobby in a coma and brings Eddie back everything becomes overwhelming fast. Buck starts leaning on his old habits, and it’s not long until he spirals out of control.Series

Summary
Buck, predictably, answers within two rings. “Yellow. You’ve got Buck.”
“Hey, Buck.”
“You okay?”
Eddie lifts his head to confirm the state of his house. The orange tree is still very much there, amidst the wreckage of his home. The sole perpetrator, even.
“Sure,” he says.
Buck hesitates. “...Sure?”
“There’s a tree.”
“Where?”
“Inside my house.”
“Oh.” Eddie can practically see Buck’s eyebrows furrowing. “Like, you bought a tree?”
“No,” Eddie says. He hasn’t blinked since Buck picked up the phone. “It’s the orange tree.”
A beat of silence. “It’s inside your house.”
Eddie lets out an exhausted huff, leaning back in his chair. “Apparently.”
OR: there’s an orange tree. It’s in Eddie’s house.
