Summary
Mayali felt the low hum of the telekinesis spell fade out before the doors of the room burst open, armed men pouring out of the walls.
This was unsurprising. They were at a gala to kill and fake the killing of prominent political figures, the arrival of security was something that would be expected in any of her contingencies. It was included in them actually, because she was damn good at what she was hired for. The doors being forced open earlier was not ideal, but it could be dealt with. There were plans for that, most of which involved killing the king and a riskier escape, but it was all within expectation.
However, as she twirled a dagger once more in her hands, shifting her eyes to survey the field once more, the guard spoke. He spoke a name, asking for orders, a name that shattered every plan she had.
Azune.

Summary
When the Seekers return to Dol-Makjar, Julien wants to go back to the Palazzo. Thjazi’s whelp offers to tag along for—what? Moral support? Julien honestly has no idea, but he can’t be bothered to tell the lieutenant off.
Or maybe he just really doesn’t want to.

Summary
The integration between the Falconers and the forces of House Royce goes surprisingly well. Thjazi has to admit that a large part of that is not to the Royce themselves, as much as he adores his Nessa, but to General Davinos, who knows full well how to speak to soldiers and command their respect.
Unfortunately, General Davinos does come with one problem, who is fourteen years old, apparently fearless, and hates Thjazi’s guts.
