These new ones are different. These new ones, he sees every time he closes his eyes.
They defeated Chuck, installed a new God, and now Dean has to live with the aftermath.

The Greek God of War, known to his friends (if he had any) more simply as Dean, reluctantly leaves behind the man of his dreams after a hot summer fling in Paris of 1820, and he's never stopped wishing things could have been different. Two hundred years later, he's a very different man—teaching Kindergarten and living like a regular mortal instead of building weapons and turning neighboring countries into bloody enemies, but one thing hasn't changed, that's how much he misses Castiel.
Oh well, at least he can eat his feelings—time for a grocery run!

Summary

Summary
After an explosive fight with his wife, Castiel Novak finds himself divorced and unemployed at thirty-four years old. Reduced to living with his cousin, Gabriel, he runs into the last person he expected to see: his ex-roommate and best friend, Dean Winchester. Living with Dean is easy, and almost immediately, Castiel and Dean fall back into their old friendship. And living with Dean awakens other feelings in Castiel, ones that he once thought impossible (doesn’t everyone appreciate the aesthetic qualities of their roommates?). But the specter of one disastrous night in college hangs over them both, making it impossible for them to truly reflect on their friendship–and maybe making it impossible for them to move forward into anything real.
